Ecosystem of the Plot

Biocenosis:

Life thrives in this plot, providing a welcoming habitat for a variety of organisms such as springtails, mites, earthworms, and other insects. Water is abundant due to lignite clays, forming a surface crust in summer that limits soil evaporation. Food is also plentiful, notably due to spontaneous grassing providing a source of organic matter in our plots.

Biotope:

The diversity of soil in this vineyard plot is remarkable. At the surface, layers of lignite clay are followed by an alternation of dense Thanetian chalk and marl. Deeper down, the subsoil is primarily composed of soft limestone.
