Informations
Biocoenosis :
Life abounds in this plot, providing a welcoming habitat for a variety of organisms such as springtails, mites, earthworms, and other insects. Water is abundant thanks to the lignite clay, which forms a surface crust in summer that limits soil evaporation. Food is also plentiful, notably due to the spontaneous grass cover that supplies a source of organic matter in our plots.
Biotope :
The soil diversity in this vineyard plot is remarkable. At the surface, layers of lignite clay are followed by alternating dense Thanetian chalk and marl. Deeper down, the subsoil consists mainly of soft limestone.
